Those who are interested in joining the Institute of Saint Joseph may come to visit at a Formation Meeting. We meet from September to May one Saturday of the month at the Institute’s center at 31360 County Highway MM, Boyd, WI.
Our 2024-2025 Formation Day Schedule is:
Those who are interested in visiting should contact the Institute at least one week in advance of the Formation Day at info@instituteofstjoseph.com or call 715-667-3372.
The Formation Day begins with Morning Prayer at 8:00 AM in Cor Jesu Oratory, the church beside the former school where we meet. After a break, we pray Midmorning Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours and have formation talks until 11:00 AM when we go to the Oratory for the Holy Mass. Before going back to the former school, we pray the Midday Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours.
We have a lunch break and at 1 PM there is another talk. We end the day with a Holy Hour in the Oratory from 2 to 3 PM at which we pray the Holy Rosary, have silent time for personal prayer and end with the Midafternoon Office of the Liturgy of the Hours.
Our day is punctuated with prayer as we learn about the life of prayer, our spiritual growth, and the commitment we make as lived in the Institute of Saint Joseph.
The priest members of the Institute of Saint Joseph meet on other days but join the entire membership for the feast of Saint Joseph in March and the annual retreat in June.
Both men and women, married and single, who reside in the Diocese of La Crosse, and priests of the Diocese of La Crosse may become members.
Watch our retreat talks from June 2022 and previous presentations on Formation days.
